Today we’ll be sharing a Chicago real estate forecast for 2020. It’s incredible that 2019 is over and 2020 is here.

In 2020, I believe the Chicago real estate market will be fairly solid; it’s not going to go too high or too low, at most sales prices may decrease by around 1%. Many sales will happen, a lot of development, numerous people buying, many people selling. Inventory may go up, so buyers might have more from which to choose.

It should be a relatively stable environment in 2020.

The mortgage rates will be great, we don’t expect them to go up in 2020. We were fortunate enough to have three Fed cuts throughout 2019, which helped mortgage rates and real estate sales overall. It should be a relatively stable environment in 2020, similar to 2019. That’s wonderful news for both buyers and sellers.

A Tour of My New South Loop Condo (Available Now!)

Located at 13th and Michigan in the South Loop near Museum Park, this 1,400 square-foot, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo unit also comes with a den, which has its own closet as well. As you can see in the video above, it’s a loft-style condo that was totally remodeled in 2018. The bathroom and kitchen are brand-new—the kitchen comes complete with quartz countertops. "The result was a positive one, we sold the house. He came on time the first time that we setup an appointment. He was very professional, he wasn’t pushing us, he gave us what I felt was an honest assessment. And what was really nice about working with him, he recognized that we had a different opinion initially, we thought the house would sell for more than what it would really sell for, and it was hard. He could recognize that our assessment was not necessary in line with his assessment. But even though he saw that we were kind of frustrated about the reality sinking in, he was always really patient. He worked with us for a 6 month period, he held open houses, he showed us how he was marketing the property and he was very accessible. We just wanted wanted to take the house of the market, but a year later when we put it back on the market he was professional. He just worked with us.

We had a tenet who was evicted and we were out of the state by that point, Vergis was very helpful. He went to the property when we couldn't. He was very patient, he came on the day of the eviction, he spent a couple hours there with us to help us find someone to fix damages, help assessing the property and just making sure we wouldn’t be alone during that difficult time. I don't think that was in his job description, but he did it. He really went out of his way to drive by the property and check on it because we were out of state and didn’t have the time or the money to have someone else check on it. He, or one of his staff, regularly drive by and just check on the property. I thought that was above and beyond what I thought a realtor would do."
